For 27 MINUTES, done in support of TIME, Curtis's sixth solo biennial of interactive installation, in 2009 Curtis completed a 1-minute drawing, a 2-minute drawing, a 3-minute drawing, through a drawing that took 27 consecutive minutes to complete. Next, she completed 27 HOURS from June 2009 through July 2010, a 1-hour drawing, a 2-hour drawing, a 3-hour drawing, through a drawing that took 27 hours to complete, keeping track of her progress with a chart and drawing an hour each day for a total of 378 hours. All of the minute drawings, plus the 27-hour drawing, were exhibited at June Fitzpatrick Gallery (27 MINUTES, 27 HOURS, November 6-28, 2009). All 27 hour drawings were exhibited at Bates College Museum of Art (Emerging Dis/Order: Drawings by Amy Stacey Curtis, Alison Hildreth, and Andrea Sulzer, June 10-September 10, 2011, as part of Where to Draw the Line: The Maine Drawing Project (a state-wide celebration of drawing).
