A Discussion and Networking Group for Creatives"When conversation occurs between creatives, from those having an idea to those achieving the end result, from those wishing creativity was part of their life to those making creativity their lifestyle, it is beneficial and energizing."
MUSE is a source of creative inspiration--a time when creatives can dialogue about their similar processes, questions, and goals--regardless of the work they do or hope to do. This is also a time to network, to exchange resources and knowledge. Amy Stacey Curtis, an installation artist from Lyman, Maine, finds that bringing together people at various points upon their individual creative paths is endlessly stimulating, whether these creatives have just begun to proactively create or they have been creating passionately for decades. Periodically gathering creative minds also repels the isolation which can sometimes accompany creatives' work. For herself, Curtis is animated by this dialogue with creatives who likewise want to take risks, change the landscape about them, and/or be purely happy doing what fulfills their existence.
Creatives are: visual artists, musicians, writers, poets, choreographers, dancers, actors, small business owners, developers, theorists, mathematicians, programmers, scientists, philanthropists, advocates, fundraisers, self-starters, idea-havers, lofty-goal seekers, etc.
Curtis started MUSE for creatives in the Portland, Maine area, but soon learned that creatives beyond southern Maine would benefit from its purpose. Therefore, she has suggested a flexible format you can use to begin MUSE groups wherever you live (see links below). If you think you would like to start your own MUSE please send Curtis an e-mail at amy@amystaceycurtis.com. She will add your location and contact link to this site (as MUSE spreads, it will eventually have its own Web site, rather than a link off Curtis' site). Also, if you would like to learn more about Curtis and her work visit www.amystaceycurtis.com
To participate in MUSE Portand, Maine contact Amy Stacey Curtis (amy@amystaceycurtis.com). Subject: "Add me to your MUSE e-mail list." MUSE Portland, Maine now takes place at at Kundalini Community Yoga, 52 Pine Street.
